Our Punjabi Samosa Chaat is the ultimate Indian street food—quick and easy to make and bursting with flavour. This dish is made from chopped crispy samosas drizzled with mint and coriander chutney and sweet yogurt then adorned with jewel-like pomegranates and onion. Fruity, creamy and mildly spicy, your guests will keep going back for more.

Ingredients

Mint and coriander chutney

  • Small bunch fresh coriander with stems
  • Small bunch fresh mint leaves
  • 4 tbsp Patak’s® Lime Pickle
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Salt, to taste

Sweet yogurt

  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Assembly

  • 12 Punjabi samosas (homemade or from an Indian grocery store), fried to golden brown
  • 1 pomegranate, seeded
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Tamarind sauce

Instructions

Mint and coriander chutney

  1. Put all the ingredients except the salt and sugar in a blender and process until smooth. 
  2. Add the sugar and season to taste with salt. Set aside in refrigerator.

 Sweet yogurt

  1. Whisk together the sugar and yogurt. Set aside in refrigerator.

 Assembly

  1. Cut the fried samosas in half and place on a serving platter. 
  2. Drizzle half the chutney, sweet yogurt and tamarind sauce on the samosas. 
  3. Sprinkle the red onions, pomegranate seeds and coriander on top. 
  4. Drizzle the remaining chutney, sweet yogurt and tamarind sauce.
  5. Serve as a starter.
